Event Overview
This clinic combines live demonstrations, rhythm section interaction, and musical concepts designed to help drummers and rhythm section players better understand time, feel, and how drums connect with harmony. Attendees will gain insight into how groove, phrasing, and musical communication function in professional settings between drums and keys.
About Dave Stark
Dave Stark is a highly experienced session drummer and educator with over 35 years of professional teaching and performing. He currently serves as President of the Florida chapter of the Percussive Arts Society and is a member of the PAS Drumset Committee.
Dave has presented clinics at NAMM, Berklee College of Music, Musicians Institute, The Collective NYC, University of Miami, and many other institutions worldwide, focusing on clear, practical drumset concepts that translate directly to performance.
About Jay Oliver
Jay Oliver is an internationally respected composer, producer, and keyboardist, and the developer of the Grooveclix App. He is widely known for his work with Dave Weckl, co-creating music that helped define modern jazz fusion. Jay has also worked behind the scenes with artists including Glenn Frey and The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, and Sheryl Crow.
His approach connects rhythm, harmony, and technology, offering drummers a broader understanding of time and musical structure.
